Save This Old Circa 1860 New York Fixer Upper Second Empire $79K
Reduced from $99,000 to $79,000
This fixer upper is located in Schoharie County, arguably the most beautiful county in the state. We owned a 15-acre hobby farm in the county in the late 1980s, and I thought I knew all the towns, but Wright is not one of them. Regardless, the circa 1860 Second Empire was a beauty in its day and deserves restoration.

About This Old Circa 1860 New York Fixer Upper Second Empire $79K
Here is a diamond in the rough. Bring your tools and get to work on this Vintage Beauty. This home can be magnificent. 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms and a huge eat-in kitchen. Endless possibilities here. Septic tank is 10 years old; Leach field is 2 years old. Furnace and hot water heater are brand new this year. Yes, this home needs work but worth every penny. The outbuilding in the rear of the home was a workshop and has radiant floor heating on one side, the other side has a dirt floor and tons of storage. (Will be cleaned out by closing). The water source has always been a spring, owner feels a new well should be put in. Price reflects condition. With so much of the old-world charm left, it’s just begging to be restored. This property has lovely Fox Creek views.

She is a beauty all right. First thing, rip out the horrible track lighting in the parlor and then work from there. Looks like some of the painful stuff — like the furnace–has been dealt with. Were I 10 years younger and near New York, I’d be all over it!

On the banister, which is on the second floor, the balusters are loose, and need to be fixed. The kitchen is missing a refrigerator.
